Volunteer Dogs Needed to Participate in the DOGS! Course 2005

Principles and Techniques of Behavior Modification
June 1-5, 2005

We are currently looking for volunteer dogs for our training and behavior modification practicums for the DOGS! Course. Practicums are designed to allow the DOGS! Course participants to practice the training and behavior modification techniques they have learned in class. For information about course content visit the DOGS! Course link.

Training Practicum, June 3rd, 2005
We are looking for 30untrained dogs to be used in the practicum on June 3rd from 8:45 AM- 12:00 PM. Dogs should not have major behavior problems but may have lack of training issues such as jumping, pulling on the leash and not coming when called.

Behavior Problem Practicum June 4th
We are also accepting 30 dogs with behavior problems for our June 4th behavior problem practicum. Selected dogs will be needed on June 4th from 8:45AM-12:00 PM.

Behavior issues that may be considered for the practicum are:
• Anxiety to specific people, objects, animals or sounds
• Aggression to other dogs
• Aggression to people
• Issues with handling or procedures such as touching feet, nail trims, touch ears, etc.
• Compulsive disorders
• Other issues

Behavior issues which cannot be considered for the practicum are:
• Separation anxiety
• Global fear (fear of everything)
• Territorial aggression (aggression only on your property)

All volunteer dogs must be up to date on vaccinations including the bordatella (kennel cough) vaccine.
