Age of Campers
The senior camp is designed for students who will be entering grades 10, 11, and 12 in the fall of 2010.  There will be no exceptions to these age requirements.

Dates of Camp
Camp will be held from Sunday, June 13 through Saturday, June 19.

Location of Camp
The Senior Camp will be held on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. 

Schedule of Events
The final schedule is not yet complete, but the following activities and events will comprise the schedule of the camp’s activities.

  • Welcome Picnic
  • Behavior Medicine
  • Common Parasites
  • Basic Husbandry
  • Spaying and Castrations of Pets
  • Shadowing of Veterinary Professionals in the Veterinary Teaching Hospital
  • Questions and Answers about Applying to Veterinary and Veterinary Technology School
  • Recreational Gymnasium Activities
  • Tour of Purdue University
  • Movie Night
  • Group Presentation

The campers will work in small groups alongside of School of Veterinary Faculty and Staff members to provide basic wellness care including neutering surgery to animals in need of adoption.  As a result of the week long camp these animals will have received all necessary veterinary care for their adoption.

Cost of Camp
The cost of camp includes all meals and housing for the entire period of time of the camp.  In addition, all activities in which the campers will take part in are covered in the camp fee.  Scholarships providing partial or full fee assistance are available for campers.  The fee for the 7 day Senior Camp is $1500.
