National Biosecurity Resource Center for Animal Health Emergencies
Our mission is to enable Government, Commodity Groups, Veterinarians, and Producers to meet the challenges of animal health emergencies. The Center is just beginning and currently offers a list of peer-reviewed biosecurity references, disinfectant information, and State regulations involving dead animal disposal, reportable diseases, and nutrient management.
The Center for the Human-Animal Bond
The Center for the Human-Animal Bond is committed to expanding our knowledge of the interrelationships between people, animals, and their environment. The Center for the Human-Animal Bond has developed an area of study in animal welfare and societal concerns that began in 1992.
Medical Discovery Resource Unit
The (MDRU) promotes interdisciplinary research campus-wide by providing the professional expertise (e.g., in pathology, histology, epidemiology, imaging, etc.) and facilities needed to support translational biomedical investigation. It provides collaborative support for investigators in various academic departments on campus, in Discovery Park and in the local private-sector. It provides opportunities for hands-on learning and training of graduate, undergraduate and professional students with an interest in comparative biomedical research.

The Center for Paralysis Research was founded to both develop and test promising methods of treatment for spinal cord injuries.

National Veterinary Cytology Resource Center
The Cytology Resource Center is to serve as a center for educational material, a resource for consultation and a focus of research in the area of Veterinary Diagnostic Cytology and Hematology. This strong interest has resulted in the accumulation of a significant resource of archived diagnostic cytology and hematology material that has been used in a variety of dry and wet laboratory settings. Much of this material is applicable for professional veterinary students, practicing veterinarians, interns and residents in medicine, surgery, anatomic pathology, and clinical pathology programs, and veterinary technicians.

The Purdue University Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association serves as the professional organization for those students pursuing their DVM here at the School of Veterinary Medicine. The chapter sells official Purdue School of Veterinary Medicine merchandise and it is available on this site. In addition, they sponsor a yearly photograph contest and a calendar of events.
