If your paralyzed dog meets the preliminary criteria listed below, please have your veterinarian contact Purdue University's Small Animal Hospital or Texas A&M University's Small Animal Medicine and Surgery about possible inclusion in a clinical program. Dog owners wanting to participate must be willing to return to the hospital for follow up evaluation.
When making an appointment at either small animal hospital (telephone numbers listed below), please have the following information ready:
Dog: age, weight, breed, sex
Date and cause of injury
Local veterinarian name, addresss, and phone
 
Entry Requirements for Polymer/PEG Trials
Onset of Paralysis must be Acute (within 48 hours)

Onset of Paralysis must be Acute (within 18 days)

*Fracture dislocations will be considered on a case by case basis.
Dog must have a NEGATIVE deep pain response. Paraplegia must be complete and confirmed by a local veterinarian. Decompressive surgeries related to the injury must be performed at our facilities. Must have general good health condition.
