PAST PARTICIPANTS IN ONGOING CLINICAL STUDIES
A few of the participants in our clinical trials over the years are shown
below. All of these pets had suffered a naturally occurring spinal
cord injury and also met the requirements of our studies. These clinical
trials speed development of our techniques to treat spinal cord injuries.

Oscillating Field Stimulator (OFS) Studies
Twiggy
Twiggy is a 5 year old Miniature Dachshund that had a sudden onset of hind
limb paralysis from a T12/T13 vertebral disc herniation. Once the Center for
Paralysis Research was contacted, Twiggy was received by the Purdue Small Animal
Clinic 2 days post-injury.
Symptoms included dragging her hind legs and the inability to urinate on her own.

After implantation of an Oscillating Field Stimulator, over the course of 6 months,
Twiggy was walking and could urinate on her own.
Bo

Bo is a 5 year old Cocker Spaniel that had a sudden onset of hind limb paralysis from a T12/T13 vertebral disc rupture. Once the Center for Paralysis Research was contacted, Bo came to the Purdue Small Animal Clinic 2 days after his accident.
Symptoms included dragging of the hind legs and an inability to urinate on his own.
Over a course of 6 months, Bo is doing quite well with regained bladder control and the ability to walk.
Gretchen

Gretchen is a 6 year old Minature Dachshund that had a sudden onset of
hind limb paralysis due to a T11/T12 disc herniation. Gretchen was received
by the Purdue Small Animal Clinic 2 days post-injury. Symptoms included
dragging her hind legs and the inability to urinate on her own.
Over a course of a year, Gretchen has improved movement in her rear legs but gets
along with the aid of a K-9 cart.
Shatzie

Shatzie is a 5 year old Miniature Dachshund that had rear limb paralysis due to a T12/T13 vertebral disc herniation. After a year Shatzie is taking a few steps on his own but still needs the help of his K-9 cart.
Otto

Otto is a 3 and a half year old German Shepherd that had hind limb paralysis due to a clot in his spinal cord.
All dogs in studies used dogcarts by K-9 Cart Company.
