Requirements:
Applicants must:
- Be a graduate of an AVMA accredited veterinary school or foreign equivalent
- Take the general graduate record exam (GRE) which will be a factor in admission for graduate school.
- Achieve a minimum score of 575 on the TOEFL plus a TWE score of 4 for all non-native speakers of English for unconditional admission. For conditional acceptance, a score of at least 550 on the TOEFL is required.
- Submit an application to the Purdue University, School of Veterinary Medicine, Comparative Pathobiology Graduate Program which must be accepted by the:
Indiana MS-Graduate Training/Residency Program Steering Committee
The Comparative Pathobiology Graduate Program and
The Purdue University Graduate Program

Successful completion of the program will require:
- Completion of core Comparative Medicine courses with a grade of “B” or better
- Completion of a total of 30 credit hours of graduate level courses with a “B” or better average
- Satisfactory performance as defined by the advisory committee
- Satisfactory completion as defined by the trainee’s advisory committee of a mentored research project
- Publication (or submission for publication) in a refereed scientific journal of at least 1 manuscript resulting from the research project.
Students will receive a MS degree based on course work requirements and a certificate verifying that they have completed all the requirements of the program including submission of a first authored paper to a peer reviewed journal.
