The Food Animal Club provides students interested in food animal medicine the opportunity to learn about current issues facing food animal veterinarians as well as different aspects of the profession. Meetings provide good food and one-on-one interaction between the students and the speaker. Membership in this club enables the student to attend the annual AABP meeting in the fall and AASV meeting in the spring with minimal cost to the student. This is made possible by our major fund-raising event, the Food Tent, during the annual Vet School Open House in April, in which we also host a Petting Zoo. Rounds are held every other week with a clinician in the Large Animal Hospital to discuss interesting cases and provide a real-life view of the profession.
