Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine
International Veterinary Student Association
| Home | Looking to broaden your horizons? IVSA provides a great opportunity for exposure to the breadth of international opportunities that are available for future veterinarians in research, non-profit organizations and in various types of medicine. Just in the past two summers, Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine has sent a record number of students to work with veterinarians in many different countries such as Mexico, Japan, New Zealand, Czechoslovakia, Morocco, South Africa and India! Motivation in these students was created in large part because of participation in IVSA, and also due to Dr. Nour’s International Veterinary Medicine class. IVSA strives to promote international understanding and leadership, and does so by often bringing in well-respected veterinarians to speak about their international experiences. Topics range from what veterinary schools in other countries are like to what it means to be a conservation veterinarian. There certainly is no shortage of IVSA members who have been study abroad students, and we are enthusiastic about sharing our experiences with new students. We look forward to taking the Purdue chapter of IVSA to new levels and infusing the same excitement that we have into tomorrow’s international vets!
