School of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital Clinical Pathology
Welcome to the Clinical Pathology Laboratory at Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Our lab is directed and staffed by four veterinary clinical pathologist and three residents. The clinical services we provide are chemistry, hematology, coagulation, endocrinology, urinalysis, and cytology testing submitted by our hospital clinicians and outside clinics on routine and research sample. We strive to provide the most accurate and precise results in a timely manner. Contact Information: VTH Clinical Pathology Laboratory 625 Harrison St. Lynn G351 West Lafayette, IN 47906 (765) 494-7563 or (765) 494-3972 Hours: Monday thru Friday 8am – 5pm Routine submission times are 8am – 4pm Cytology submission times are 8am – 3pm Samples submitted after the above submission time will be subjected to a late fee charge if sample results are need that evening. Cytology samples submitted after the above submission time will be at the discretion of the pathologist on duty. Routine samples submitted by 4pm and cytologies submitted by 3pm will be available by 5pm on the same day. Saturday: Submissions for limited laboratory request are accepted 9am – 11am. Saturdays are reserved for emergencies and monitoring of critically ill cases. Other samples are run only if time permits. After Hours Laboratory personnel are on call for emergencies after regular business hours and on weekend. Page 742-3648 for the technician on call. Please page after sample has been drawn. There is a call in charge of $75.00 in addition to the cost of the tests. Block Change Day: The lab will be closed from 8am – 1pm every block change day for preventative maintenance.
