PVM Guidelines for Children in the PVM complex

The College of Veterinary Medicine strives to be supportive of its faculty, staff, and students and their families. In this context, PVM must establish policies that protect the productivity, health, and welfare of the entire Lynn Hall family. PVM is first and foremost an academic facility and workplace that has many potential hazards, including exposure to disease and dangerous environmental conditions.

Children are not permitted, with exceptions noted below, in academic spaces (i.e., classrooms or labs), PVM laboratories, nor the Purdue University Veterinary Hospital.

PVM Administrative Document #24 Approved:  July 20, 1999

Children are allowed into these areas if they are part of a Purdue sponsored program or tour.

Children are defined as anyone under the age of 18 years old not having a formal role in the University.
