The medicine ward has a treatment room, 12 standard stalls, three mare and foal stalls, a stallion stall and a downer stall equipped with a hoist to facilitate patient movement and care. In both the medicine and surgery wards, the stalls are separated by a service corridor that facilitates stall cleaning and enhances biosecurity. Adjacent to the medicine ward is the student rounds room.
