Behavior Medicine Services
The Animal Behavior Clinic is associated with the Center for the Human-Animal Bond. At the Animal Behavior Clinic, we use methods based on scientific principles to efficiently change troublesome animal behaviors. We want to work with you and your pet because changing behaviors saves pets’ lives and enhances the human-animal relationships.
Purdue's Animal Behavior Clinic operates on a referral basis. Please make sure your veterinarian has called in a referral before you call for an appointment for your pet.
After your veterinarian has called in the referral, call the Small Animal Reception Desk at 765-494-1107 for scheduling and general appointment information.
Due to the length of behavior appointments and limited appointment slots, behavior appointments usually book out 2-3 weeks in advance. Because of extensive history preparation for these behavioral evaluations, it is difficult to prepare for appointments made at the last minute when someone cancels an appointment and we try to fill the time slots.
It is often times very difficult for clients to arrange to come at the last moment and the appointment slot may not be filled which leaves the behavior department with a block of time that could have been used for another client. Due to this issue, we require that all new behavioral appointments leave a deposit of $63 which will then be applied towards the cost of your visit. You must cancel or reschedule no later than 48 hours prior to your appointment to receive a refund. Allowances will be made for cancellations that are rescheduled due to weather. If you cancel twice, you will need to speak with one of the behavioral clinicians to reschedule.
When making an appointment, please keep in mind that we encourage as many family members as possible to attend the consultation appointment.
