Use Polyester/Daeron swabs with plastic handles. Calcium Alginate may interfere with test and must not be used.

Additional Information

Samples containing blood and samples containing an excess of fecal material may interfere with the test. Positive results will require confirmation by PCR and subtype determination. Species includes chickens, turkeys, ducks and migratory birds. Cloacal swabs for waterfowl, tracheal/oropharyngeal swabs for gallinaceous birds.

This test is only performed at the Heeke ADDL in Dubois, IN.
