Wendy Beauvais passes on experiences to Cornell graduate students

January 29, 2021

This week I was invited to sit on Cornell Graduate School’s panel discussion on Exploring and Preparing for Faculty Careers with an International Lens. It was great to pass on the experiences I’ve had of navigating the academic hiring process, and it was a pleasure to share experiences with other Cornell alumni! I hope that by sharing our experiences we can empower the next generation of faculty to become more representative, diverse and inclusive.

Wendy Beauvais has a new publication coming out

January 18, 2021

I can honestly say that as a veterinarian I never expected to be analyzing a randomized controlled trial involving spinach and cantaloupe! However, I learned a lot in order to understand and analyze this dataset and it is has made me think about environmental transmission in a new way, that I hope will inform future work on pathogens of animals and people. I’m very grateful to the large team from Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Cornell University, supervised by Dr Renata Ivanek, who conductd this study of the effectiveness of novel interventions to disinfect surface irrigation water. The article will soon be published in the Journal of Applied Microbiology.
