Transfer Admission Policy

The criteria for consideration of transfer admission to Purdue’s veterinary medical program are as follows:

  1. Positions must be available in the relevant class
  2. Student must have legitimate ties to the State of Indiana or extenuating/personal circumstance (e.g. transfer of spouse to Indiana for employment purposes)
  3. Student must be in good academic standing in his/her present program
  4. Student must have completed one-two years of DVM courses with an exceptional academic record in those courses
  5. Veterinary medical curricula must be compatible
  6. Student must have support of the administration from the program in which he/she is currently enrolled

A list of interested transfer applicants is not maintained.  If you feel that you meet requirements for transfer consideration, please submit the following preliminary information NO LATER than July 1, 2022

  • Letter of request to transfer outlining specific reasons for your request
  • Letter of support from the Dean’s Office at your home school
  • Academic transcripts from all institutions attended
  • Veterinary medical academic transcript
  • Course descriptions of DVM courses completed
