About Our Service

The Equine Community Practice provides veterinary care to equine owners who are residents of Tippecanoe County and surrounding areas as well as faculty, staff and students of the Purdue University West Lafayette Campus.

To schedule an appointment with Equine Community Practice, call the Large Animal Clinic at 765-494-8548. Appointments are scheduled 8am-5pm Monday thru Friday. After hours emergency calls are also answered 24 hours a day via the same number.

About Our Services:

A Board Certified Theriogenologist, a Veterinary Practitioner-Boarded Clinician in Beef Production Medicine and 2 Registered Veterinary Technicians make up our team which provide practical on the farm training in Food Animal Medicine to Veterinary and Veterinary Technician students.

Normal Business hours 8-5pm Monday-Friday

Year round 24 hour emergency service

About Our Services

Purdue Swine Herd Health is dedicated to helping those in the swine industry reach their full potential. We offer production and health consulting and are certified for PQA Plus training. Our emphasis is on disease prevention and management through herd observations, diagnostics and record analysis.

Primary Care / Specialty Services at the Large Animal Hospital

Anesthesiology

The Anesthesia service offers 24 hour a day support to all patients requiring anesthesia and pain management at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.  Besides clinical teaching, our boarded anesthesiologists have special interests including veterinary anesthesia and pain management research, equine anesthetic recovery and anesthesia, and pain management with exotic animals.

Behavioral Medicine

The Animal Behavior Clinic is associated with the Center for the Human-Animal Bond. At the Animal Behavior Clinic, we use methods based on scientific principles to efficiently change troublesome animal behaviors. We want to work with you and your pet because changing behaviors saves pets’ lives and enhances the human-animal relationships.

Cardiology

Our services are available to patients referred by veterinarians in private practice.  Following a referral from your veterinarian, you may schedule an appointment for your animal by calling our reception staff at (765) 494-8548 between 8am and 5pm Monday thru Friday.

Diagnostic Imaging

The Imaging Department at the Purdue University Veterinary Teaching Hospital strives to be at the forefront of imaging technology.  We have 5 faculty radiologists who are board certified Diplomates of the American College of Veterinary Radiology and we have five registered veterinary technicians/medical technologists.

Equine Performance Testing Clinic

Farrier Service

For the names and numbers of farriers in Tippecanoe County or any of the surrounding counties, please call our Large Animal Reception at (765) 494-8548 between the hours of 8am to 5pm Monday thru Friday.

Internal Medicine

Ophthalmology

Surgery

Theriogenology
